1. About Us .

These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of goods supplied by:

Lighting of London Limited
Company Number: 12664619
Registered in England and Wales

By placing an order with Lighting of London (“the Supplier”), the customer (“the Customer”) agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Definitions .

Business Day
Any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday in England when banks in London are open for business.

Customer
The individual or business purchasing goods from Lighting of London.

Goods
The products supplied by Lighting of London as specified in the Customer’s order.

Order
The request by the Customer to purchase Goods from the Supplier.

Specification
Any agreed technical specification, drawings or designs relating to the Goods.

Force Majeure Event
Any event outside the reasonable control of the Supplier, including but not limited to natural disasters, supplier failures, labour disputes, war, pandemics, transportation disruption or power failures.

3. Orders .

3.1 All orders placed by a Customer constitute an offer to purchase Goods subject to these Terms and Conditions.

3.2 Orders are only accepted when Lighting of London:

  • confirms acceptance in writing; or

  • dispatches the Goods.

3.3 Lighting of London reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its discretion before dispatch.

3.4 Customers are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted with an Order is accurate and complete, including specifications, quantities and delivery details.

4. Product Descriptions .

4.1 Product images, specifications and descriptions shown on the Lighting of London website, catalogues or marketing materials are provided for illustrative purposes only.

4.2 Lighting of London reserves the right to modify product specifications where necessary for:

  • product improvement

  • manufacturing requirements

  • regulatory compliance

Such changes will not materially affect the performance of the product.

5. Stock Availability & Lead Times .

Lighting of London aims to maintain high stock levels across all products.

If an item becomes unavailable after an Order is placed:

  • the Customer will be notified within 24 hours; and

  • a lead time of up to 40 days may apply.

Customers will have the option to confirm the revised lead time or cancel the order.

6. Delivery .

6.1 Delivery may be made by Lighting of London or an authorised carrier.

6.2 Delivery dates are estimates only and Lighting of London shall not be liable for delays outside its reasonable control.

6.3 Delivery will be deemed completed when:

  • the Goods are delivered to the agreed delivery address; or

  • the Goods are collected by the Customer or their appointed carrier.

6.4 If the Customer fails to accept delivery within 3 Business Days of notification that the Goods are ready, Lighting of London reserves the right to charge reasonable storage costs.

6.5 Lighting of London may deliver goods in separate instalments where necessary.

7. Inspection of Goods .

Customers must inspect Goods upon delivery.

Any issues relating to:

  • visible damage

  • incorrect quantities

  • incorrect items

must be reported within 5 Business Days of delivery.

Failure to report within this time may result in the Goods being deemed accepted.

This clause does not affect the Customer’s statutory rights.

8. Warranty .

Lighting of London warrants that the Goods will:

  • conform to their description

  • be free from manufacturing defects

  • be of satisfactory quality

A lifetime warranty is offered on all light fittings, bar LED Strip and Drivers, which hold a 36-month warranty, unless otherwise stated.

The warranty does not apply where defects arise due to:

  • incorrect installation

  • misuse or negligence

  • unauthorised modification

  • fair wear and tear

  • environmental damage

  • non-compliant electrical systems

9. Returns .

Goods may only be returned where:

  • they are faulty

  • incorrect items were supplied

  • prior authorisation has been granted by Lighting of London

Return requests must be made within 10 Business Days of delivery, or 5 Business Day of noticing a fault.

Approved returns must:

  • be unused

  • be in original packaging

  • be in re-saleable condition

Non-faulty authorised returns may be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Refunds for non-faulty items may be issued via credit note.

10. Title and Risk .

10.1 Risk in the Goods passes to the Customer upon delivery.

10.2 Ownership of the Goods remains with Lighting of London until payment has been received in full.

10.3 Until ownership passes, the Customer must store the Goods safely and separately so they remain identifiable as the Supplier’s property.

11. Price and Payment .

11.1 Prices are those confirmed in the order confirmation or current price list.

11.2 Prices exclude:

  • VAT

  • delivery charges

  • insurance

  • import duties or tariffs

11.3 No payment terms or credit are offered to any Company or Customer unless exceptional circumstance have been considered and accepted by Lighting of London.

11.4 Lighting of London reserves the right to charge interest on overdue payments at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.

12. Intellectual Property .

All intellectual property rights relating to the design, manufacture, branding, and imagery of Lighting of London products remain the property of Lighting of London, and must only be used with the permission of Lighting of London.

13. Limitation of Liability .

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law

Subject to the above, Lighting of London’s liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the Goods supplied.

Lighting of London shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses including loss of profit or business interruption.

14. Data Protection .

Customer data will be processed in accordance with Lighting of London’s Privacy Policy available on the company website.

15. Force Majeure .

Lighting of London shall not be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

16. Governing Law .

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
