Lighting of London was appointed to deliver a bespoke lighting design to elevate Boudica, a high-end restaurant based in the thriving heart of Battersea. A stunning statement restaurant that oozes chic and modern style, they needed an expert in lighting to make their concepts a reality. For Boudica, the objective was to create a comfortable, sophisticated dining environment supported by layered lighting that enhances both the architecture and the customer experience.
THE BRIEF .
Boudica required a lighting scheme that would feel welcoming and refined, while also introducing moments of visual interest throughout the restaurant.
The design needed to balance general ambient lighting with focused highlights and subtle colour accents, helping to define different areas within the space. It was also important that the lighting supported a warm, intimate dining atmosphere at 2700K, while remaining flexible through control integration.
Our Approach .
We developed a layered lighting strategy combining ambient, accent and architectural lighting elements.
Concealed linear lighting was used throughout to provide a consistent base layer of illumination. These elements were carefully specified to ensure high output, and a clean, “spotting” free appearance.
Accent lighting was then introduced to highlight key features such as the planting.This helped create depth within the space and guided the visual experience of the restaurant.
On-site and remote support was provided throughout installation, working closely with the electrical contractor to ensure accurate implementation of the design intent.
The Products .
Used consistently throughout the interior, our Linear.240 provides continuous architectural illumination and enhance key design features, such as joinery detailing.
The Spot.S was used for pinpoint lighting, for a dramatic contrast effect. The small size allowed it to be mounted and illuminate the architectural features.
With its complete adjustable functionality, the Follow Me.P was used to provide accent lighting to highlight specific features and focal points. The recessed aspect allowed it to integrate back seamlessly into the ceiling when not in use.

Our Impact .
A key part of our involvement was supporting the delivery team through clear documentation, structured lighting layouts and ongoing technical assistance.
All lighting was designed in collaboration with the interior designer, ensuring that decorative fittings and functional lighting worked together as a cohesive scheme.
By organising drawings into multiple layers, we helped simplify installation and reduce coordination issues on site. This approach ensured that the lighting design was implemented accurately and efficiently.
Close collaboration with both the interior designer and electrical contractor helped maintain consistency between design intent and final installation.
The OUTCOME .
The completed scheme enhances Boudica’s interior by combining warm ambient lighting with carefully placed accents and subtle architectural highlights. The result is a layered environment that feels comfortable, adaptable and visually engaging.
Lighting plays a key role in shaping the restaurant’s identity, supporting both atmosphere and functionality while remaining responsive to different service requirements.
This project demonstrates how coordinated design, technical precision and close collaboration can deliver a lighting scheme that enhances both the dining experience and the overall interior concept.
